REPORT OF THE HALL OF FAME COMMITTEE                                                  April 11,2009

TO: Membership

Since our Hall of Fame began in 1961 there have been 39 men inducted into it, all worthy members of this honored group. We ask for your help and cooperation in finding candidates for possible induction into our Hall of Fame.

Recommendations must be in writing and have to be submitted to the Association Manager of the Dallas USBC Bowling Association by March 1 of each year. In the letter, please list all of the reasons why you are recommending the person and list his qualifications for this honor. We would appreciate you giving this matter some thought and make a recommendation if you know of someone you think should be in our Hall of Fame. We really do need your help in seeing that all possible candidates are given proper consideration for this high honor.

Please review the Dallas USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame by-laws and make sure candidates meet minimum qualifications including the requirement, the candidate has been a member in good standing of the Dallas USBC Bowling Association for 20 years.

This year we have an inductee worthy of our Hall of Fame based on his service to the bowling community, Mel Carmody, and another based on his outstanding accomplishments in the sport of ten pins, Del Ballard Jr.

Respectfully submitted,

  • Jerry Anderson, Chairman
  • Mike Hudspeth
  • Larry Bilbrey
  • Robert Spurgeon
  • Odell Hickman
  • Jim Doran
  • Ernest Tyler
  • Tom Parker
